    Took off my Injen Intake

Is this the first thread about the Injen???

I took my intake off the car. It sounded great, but quite frankly didn't make any noticeable horsepower difference. The main reason I took it off was because of the hesitation/jerking that the 1.6 w/ automatics keep getting. Basically, I didn't have the throttle floored all the time, it didn't like to accelerate smoothly. Under 3K RPM's, the car would just hesitate really bad.

With the stock intake back on, the car feels a lot more responsive at low RPM's. I can actually accelerate smoothly now without having to mash the throttle to the floor.

I'll probably keep the Pro like this for a while. Possible a K&N filter in the near future. That is of course if I don't win the lottery. Then I'd be getting a turbo, and lots of other cars for me to play around with.

i wish i could do that sometimes, but i cut the stock airbox apart to use the tube with a custom ram air:p i might just put together a shorty intake with the stock tube, or i've thought about cutting down the injen, so the filter is in the corner of the engine compartment. i know someone's done it, and i want to find out if they had an automatic, and if it made a difference with the jerking

I am glad my manual doesn't have problems like that. I could never imagine removing my intake now.

I may be in the near future, but for right now I think I'll keep it. I may want to put it on for autox use...since it isnt too hard to take on/off.

How much would you pay for it?

It's in fairly decent shape...has a wear spot where it met with the hole in the fender wall. It has also been cut in half and made where it could be a short ram if you wanted it to be...

                Here's a pic:

hey clint, it shouldn't be causing hesitation. have you tried the "mike's steps to not having a ****ty intake?" :D mine did it at first when i bought it again... but, fixed it with some good old fashioned ghetto rigging, and its fine now. if ya didn't try the seal thing, let me know. i swear by it, it works. i wish you had it on, i'd have you go try something to see if it was a vacuum leak.

Well the hesitation is gone now with the stock intake so it must be from the intake. I tried your seal thingy you mentioned but I didn't have the right type of seal (it was almost 1/4" thick) so I just gave up. I may attempt to make a seal again later on however.

What were you going to have me do?
