I had a pilot one with a silencer, payed 180 and it was too loud so i sold it for 200 8 months old :-)

N1 here too. The silencer is like a funnel you insert in the tip. It drastically reduces the noise output.

why i bought it....i wanted a round canister, a single simple tip and nothing too flashy (aside from the fact it's stainless)

I have been told at the autox races that it sounds pretty sweet...when other ppl drove my car, i finally heard what it sounded like outside the car...and ya it does sound sweet But today i swapped my cat, the old one was dusted, litterally. The new cat reduced the noise level quite noticably. Power seems the same though.

hey , i had an arospeed BOMB style muffler with a straight 3" tip. It was deep and droaned at highway speeds. Sounded good when somone else drove the car and went by u, but other then that it was annoying. Groharlem has a Tubro muffler on his 93 Protege. Sounds decent, not loud, but only gets loud when u stomp on the gas, doesnt droan either. Plus its a chamberd style muffler so it increases HP.

id say either get a dragger style or Chamberd Muffler. THey increase the most HP, the Straight Through bomb mufflers dont do jack, but make a car louder. lol

im back to stock exhaust. i enjoy the quietness

i would say just take it in front of a judge and ask him "well what about all these harley guys and big trucks with straight pipes ur honor?"

as for mine, ive got a pacesetter header (can NOT wait to go turbo n get rid of this thing...), full catless 2 1/4" crushbent pipng (also goin bye-bye), and used to have a pacesetter dtm style muffler, which would start raspin around 2500 rpm, but i cut it off and replaced it temporarily with a autozone turbo II muffler (like a glasspack, but not full flow-thru)... now it doesnt rasp til bout 3k, but it has a very low tone (just a bit louder tho.. lol) and i think most of the rasp comes from the rest of the system, not the muffler... all in all, not a bad muffler for <$20.. just rusts out quick as ****.
