    Car Audio Challenge

This is a thread I started over at the other "cool" forum...

OK, to go along with the "$1000 Challenge" thread, I am wanting to know which company you would choose for for a matched system? What I mean is, all Speakers and Amps from the same company. Head Units and wiring is too limiting in this exercise.

    Here are the stipulations:
    1. All Speakers and Amps must be from same company.
    2. The setup is for a Protege5 using 2 10" woofers in a custom built setup and whatever other speakers in the car.
    3. Price is no object!
    4. The existing electrical system must remain intact, except for maybe an Optima battery. This means no extra batteries or larger alternators will be used to power the system. So no outrageous power requirements!
    5. This will be in a vehicle that enters shows such as HIN, but is also a daily driver.
    6. Let's disregard the obvious JL Audio and Alpine versions. We all know that they make great equipment.
    7. The head unit will be an Alpine CDA-9815

    Please include:
    Brand
    Model of Speakers
    MSRP of equipment
Here is a link to the thread:

Let me hear what you guys can come up with!

no, head unit does not have to be the same company.

I edited the thread to reflect that the Headunit will be an Alpine CDA-9815.

Actually, Maybe I was not clear enough.

The amps and speakers all have to be from same company.

If you used JBL (but why? ) it would be acceptable.

Not that this would not be a decent setup, but you know what I mean.

            Alpine SPS-690A 6"x9" Type S 3-way $75
            (cbrstereo.com)

            Alpine SWR-1041D 10" Type-R Series Subwoofer (4ohm + 4ohm $120 x 2 = $240
            (purecaraudio.com)

            Alpine MRD-M500 500x1 $320 x 2 = $640
            (cbrstereo.com)

            Rockford Fosgate CPC10 1 farad Cap $70
            (cbrstereo.com)

            total $1169

I know I went over and it doesnt include a distrubution kit but as u can see... wiht another $200.. you could really make a system.

              you were PERFECTLY CLEAR.

same company, not same brand name all products except the batt. (which is allowed) are made by Harman international.

in this exercise there is no price limit. We will also not accept offerings from JL or Alpine!

You are correct and you got me on that loophole. But for show purposes, wouldn't it really be better for them all to be the same?

well i messed up then.. i saw $1000 dollar so i tryed my best to stay under 1000 or close to it...and well he probably said no jbl or alpine on the "money is not a limit" thing becuase people would fill it with that since it would cost way more than a 1000 but sice i kept it near 1000 i still put it there

since infinity doesn't make amps anymore, they have to use the jbl amps.

i will make a easier one later.
