According to my Anger Management Counselor, after 26 weeks of anger management class, I should be an expert when it comes to Anger Management...tell that to the guy who threw a starburst at my car in rush hour traffic...haha

      2nd generations:
There are no interchangable parts for the Z5-DE engine.
Any 1.8l Miata engine bottom end parts will work with the BP engined Protegé's.
Any 1.8l Miata (94-97 only) engine top end parts will work with the BP Protegé's.
Any bottom end parts for the 1st generation Protegé are interchangable with the BP engined Protegé's.

      per TheMan's faq.

you don't need or want 8:1 compression pistons.

it really all depends on what you plan to do with the engine

              no... it doesn't.

modern high boost engines are running far higher static CR's than the days of old.

so unless your plan is to copy 1970's OEM technology for getting emissions down (150 hp Vettes?), then you don't want 8:1 static CRs.
