hard wiring my fuel pump is it o.k (GTX)

o.k i swaped a GTX into my 91 Escort GT useing the GTX harness/ecu and the motor , then i had to splice some wires from the gtx harness to my interior harness i spliced them all the right way, but for some reason my fuel pump won't turn on.
so i went and hardwired my fuel pump directly to my battery using a fuse and a relay and the pump turned on then i ran the gtx for a while.
i went and checked to see if i had power on the gtx side of the harnees before the splice to my stock Escort GT interior harness and had nothing a GREEN/RED wire.
So by hard wiring my fuel pump will the gtx run right, or does it need a certain signal at a certain time to run right.
    thanks ryan

You can make the fuel pump work with the GTX harness. I think you need to use the black / pink stripe wire coming out of the fuel pump relay.

AFAIK, the black/pink wire connects to the green/red one on the GTX harness. You don't have a green/red wire or is it that you don't get power to that wire?

see for some reason the green/red wire on the gtx harness is not getting power when my key is turned to the run postion, i called CORKSPORT and they said it would be o.k. that way(hard wired), i just wasn't sure if the ecu had to read something with the fuel or something weird like that. but i would like to figure it out.

See i hard wired it and work the only other thing is, that when i got my motor the fuel injection harness was cut , all the color codes are good except there are 2 wires that have almost the same color codes one it black/orange and the other is black/yellow but from fading i can't tell which is which.

It doesn't work because you don't have the fuel pump resistor thingy plugged in. Unfortunately my motor didn't come with one.

            thanks ryan

If you do not have that resistor, you will need to connect 4 wires in the engine bay, near the center top firewall, there should be a gray 6 pin male connection, both outside wires/pins need to be connected, forget the colors but this will allow your fuel pump to run @ 100% instead of letting the resistor do the work for you. Mine accually broke recently and stoped resisting sending my FP all over the place. This connector should be on the same trail as the knock and charcol cansistor switch, top center.

do you know what wires with color codes to connect.
also will my pump run right without the resistor, and do you think this will cure my problem with the pump not turning on.
                    thanks ryan

Colors should be Black/Pink and Green/Orange...Book says B/P and G/O. They are in that gray connector I am talking about...find that gray connection and its the two sets of outside wires. Jumper the two together, I.E. Black to Green with one jumper, and Black to Green with another jumper and see what happens...

Make sure you have the wire under the dash hooked up as well.
