How much does everyone's protege weigh?? Mine weighed in at 2491 with me in it so that equals out to 2311 w/o me in the car and a 1/2 tank of gas. I want to get it down to 2200 with me in it, anyone know how??

It's going to be really tough to drop 300 pounds out of the car, but here are a bunch of ideas:
1) Light rims/tires
2) Remove A/C, remove P/S.
3) Remove rear seat.
4) Remove spare tire/jack, including brackets welded to hold the jack.
5)Remove the front and rear tow hooks.
6) Swap front seats for racing seats. Better yet, just the driver, and remove the passenger.
7) Fiberglass hood and front fenders.
8) Remove bumper supports. I recommend to make a brace out of aluminum to replace them.
9) Remove carpet.
10) Remove rustproof from under car.
11) Header/light exhaust.
12) Lighter flywheel.
13) plexiglass windows.
14) Hack the interior metal of the doors, just leave enough to put the interior panel.
15) Lose the stereo.
16) Look at bolts around the car and remove the extra ones.
I don't know if this will get you to your goal. It's a pretty extreme list, though.

Just a word of advice though if you do go to the extreme with weight reduction you will lose a TON of practibilty if its a daily driver unless you are VERY hard core i would advise against it..
i would also suggest ear plugs if you hate road noise..
But yeah you should be able to do it easily with normal rippin stuff out be aware your ride hieght and handling will be affected

thats one way to give a nissan design engineer a heart attack! lol. at the extremely high cost of fabrication for fenders and hood, plus the pain of removal of interior trimmings and using a cutting torch on MULTIPLE parts of the car, i'd take a chance at saying your best bet would be selling your car and investing your time an energy into a car thats... a little more promising? lol reminds me of those crazy ****s someone posted about before.. those turbo minivans ripping 12 second 1/4's and better.. they gut EVERY thing out of those things. save your time, i don't think it's worth your sweat, nor the money.

I know my DX protege was pretty light with the 1.5L engine and no power windows, no power locks, no power mirrors.
something like 2300+ lbs.
I added the BP and I am going to also add power windows to the front only ..
with 15" lightweight rims ..
You guys think I will be heavier than 2400 lbs or so ..
