    Leaking caliper?

My brake pedal has been feeling a little mushy since I bought the car in March... so yesterday I finally got around to bleeding the brakes. When I went to bleed the D/S rear caliper I got nothing but air... and with the e-brake on only the P/S rear tire locks. I'm figuring that the caliper itself is bad... anybody had a similar experience? A new caliper is only 68 bucks from Autozone but I don't want to replace it if it's not broken.

According to my Anger Management Counselor, after 26 weeks of anger management class, I should be an expert when it comes to Anger Management...tell that to the guy who threw a starburst at my car in rush hour traffic...haha

I'm not stating this as fact or anything, but i do recall seeing a mention in the Haynes manual, that even they suggest you just replace the rear claiper, as they are a very intricate design and require a skilled tech to work on them... Is that you Edwin?....LOL

have you checked the bias valve at the rear subframe for leaks and or fluid getting to the caliper in question? Your title says leaky caliper, did you see evidence of fluid on the caliper?

lol, we used to rebuild the calipers at uhaul, I never did, you have to have a steady hand because of how tight the piston went in....All they used were soft grip vise grips and c clamps to press the pistons back in after replacing the seals.

well, my rear calipers went bad.... when changing the rotors were being replaced, the caliper valve (or something) was bad... it would clamp on back again properly.... so i had to change the calipers....

that was one expensive fix... changed all 4 brakes, rotors, and calipers.... whole brake assembly...
