    2nd gen RX7 5lug conversion

    Dont have much time to elaborate on what im tryin to do with the car. but i just wanted some input on if it can be done...Or has it been done..or attempted? I was sugggested that i should swap the N/A 2nd gen Rx7 5 lug rotor/suspenion etc onto my pro..and it sounded like a great idea to me..but can it be done?

    But what would you do for the rear brakes.

    I have looked at some 626 rear ends and front ends.. To the naked eye they look familiar. I don't know about rotor size though or if it would be an improvement.

      I was thinking about this, is there any way to do a big brake upgrade? Either with a kit for another car, or with the stock setup from another car?

          if the suspension fits, than the rotors and brakes will be no problem...i did a 5lug conversion on my neon but it was from another neon..theres no info about this being tried before?

            I would say go to a Junkyard and have a look at a Rx7 hub. Then see what you can do.

                unlikely, since the rx7 is RWD and doesn't have splines for ur axle to pop into on the front hubs

                the 626/probe/mx6 might be a possibility however.

                  The front should still have splines....right?

                  the probe/mx6/626 would be more appropriate tho..

                      Miata=RWD
                      Protege=FWD

                        The MSP miata wheels will fit...the miatas are still 4 lug...ive been lookin for some MSP miata on ebay for the longest. It owuld be useless to swap suspensions/rotor with the miata since its still 4 lug.

                          never tried it myself, but it might be possible to just take the hubs, press out the spindles & press in teh 4-lug spindles...

                          then you'd need to figure out what kind of rotors to use, but hey, you'd have the better calipers at least
