    MTx or ATx?

This kid i know at work drives an automatic accord but knows how to drive a stick. I got him interested in the Mazda3 sedans and i think he is going to go buy one. He wants the automatic with the sport shift but i tell him he'll regret it later becuase he always complains becuase his accord is auto. should he just go with the auto/ sport shift or get the 5 speed? i tell him the 5 speed and call him names like slap whacker and stuff like that becuase he tells me the sport shift is like a manual.

The "sport shift" is still an auto. it just lets you manually engage the shift solenoids and choose the gears (provided the ECU feels all conditions are "optimal" for the gear you want to "shift" to). It won't give you full control like a real manual trans.
