shape of oem 3rd gen front brake pads?

i was noticing the oem front brake pads and they looked concaved.
only the sides seemed to contact the rotor.
anyone else noticed this?
doesn't this reduce braking suface?

btw. the rear pads looked normal.

new pads? just install them? they may not be installed correctly...but you would notice bad stoping distance and power. Umm hows the rotor look? if rotor is ok..id just replace the pads and see , if not just get new rotors and pads and see how it goes.
