need help with planned GTX swap

im doing the GTX swap, soon i hope. how reliable over the long term would it be with a spliced LX or JDM harness and ECU, as opposed to a LHD unspliced GTX harness and ecu. reliability is my #1 issue, so if there is a large difference in how well it will run, i will go with the LHD GTX stuff. but if there isnt any real difference (besides the knock sensor) then ill save myself alot of money and spilce my existing harness.

i want this to be a clean, quick swap, with as little problems (i know there will be some) as possible. so will i be ok the lx harness and ecu, or am i risking problems with splicing overall?

I spoke to Braden about this.... if you want it as reliable as the stock gtx he told me to stay away from the NA harness....if you have any knoledge of wiring at all then i dont see why a RHD gtx harness will be any problem.....just extend the wires.....i was going to just stick to the NA harness and ECU but after speaking to braden about this im going with the gtx harness and ECU....good luck....

there are a lot of people that have the NA stuff with no problems but there is a big risk involved....a few sensors wont be hooked up, and i dont think mazda would have put the sensors there if they wernt needed.....

ok ok . are you going to be showing your car on a regular basis? cause if not the RHD harness is not an issue. im running one right now and its no big deal and its not lengthened. you just need tuck it under your tranny mount under teh battery and you are perfectally fine. if you want pics i can get them.

if you run the n/a harness from what i have heard is you need to use the 5spd one. which means you have to run a 5spd t/b. the n/a harness lacks the knock sensor that is it.

you can pick up a knock sensor though....

Im going to run the N/A ecu. It will be 98% reliable. I promise

yea, I called up a dealership and they told me $68 for an OEM knock sensor. Not a bad deal.

not sure, but apparently the dealership thinks so, they said they had OEM ones for N/A bp's.

the bp and the bpt are tha same damn block so yes there would be a spot for it.

its on the fire wall side of the engine under the intake manny, just above the oil filter and right beside the oil pressure sensor.
