    Corksport??

Ok, I didnt know what forum to post this in, and since it concerns brakes I put it in here. Ok, I ordered the KVR brake pads from corksport like a week ago, I got a conformation email from them confiriming my order. They havent billed my Credit Card for it yet, and they havent sent it. They wont respond to any of my emails either. Now does anyone know the phone number for them or any details as to why they arent responding ?? Thanks

I've had terrible service from Corksport. I don't get it...why would you run a business that way???

In any case, I did buy a set of KVRs from them. I don't know if they glazed early on or what, but they were terrible, especially in the wet. If I was going 70mph in the rain and hit the brakes, NOTHING happened for the first second or so....very scary.

If you're still in the market for brake pads/parts, I highly recommend http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/index.htm who I bought my Hawk HP-Plus pads from. These things are unbelievable! Absolutely fantastic stopping power wet or dry, hot or cold. I use them on my daily commute, and I don't change them out when I go to lapping days at tracks that are really demanding on brakes.

Good luck, and let me know if you try the Hawks.

          if you call, they're helpful.....usually.

There's only like 3 of them, and they've got a lot of stuff going on. I wouldn't have time to reply to the probably 50 emails a day from people asking a lot of simple questions.

          Call, ask for Derek.

I honestly don't remember what I paid for the pads, it was over a year ago. I have shopped around on the web for them (for friends) since buying my own, and everyone seems to be within $5 or so. I went with Precision Brakes simply because they were so professional and all they do is brakes.

Rotors: I went with the cheapest rotors I could find. I've used a variety of rotors in the past, and haven't noticed a difference between expensive and cheap rotors. Next time I buy rotors, however, I'll get some that are annodized or treated so the hats won't rust. Personally, I'm staying away from drilled and/or slotted rotors. I do track my car occasionally, and I don't want to take any chances with breaking/cracking.

If you're going strictly for looks, then maybe you want drilled/slotted. But from what I've gathered, there's really not a performance gain, and there is questionable durability.

BTE, the guys at PBC told me that the Hawks were dusty, noisy and pretty agressive on the rotors. I definately noticed an increase in dust, the noise is not an issue at all, and can only be heard (felt?) at parking lot speeds. My rotor are holding up beautifully after a year of daily driving and two track events.

They finally shipped my order. I finally got through to them and asked why it took so long (a week just to process and ship it) and they told me they are extremely busy right now as lots of people are ordering lots of parts for winter projects. He apologized. I was cool with that, and am no gonna start recommending them again!

i don't think people realize how big the name corksport is.. at least. most protege owners of the 4 i've talked to in the past 2 months, 3 of them heard of corksport, not one knew of pc.com or cp.com. i met one in the freakin junkyard looking for a dohc ecu, but knew nothing of our online forums. anyway, good to hear they finally shipped your order.

Not to mention CS doesn't just deal with Proteges. I bet the biggest market they have is the RX-7 community.

I think my biggest prob with CS is the fact that they keep saying that they will have the combat kit out soon and dont its been over a year since I first asked and its allways been the same answer just a few more months. The only other place I know to get it will only reroute you to cork Im tired of waiting. I saw that kit and it is by far the best looking I have seen for the first gen not counting the rear bumper .

hey guys im not a large poster on this baord im an escort guy. but this i do know. everyone of the guys at CS are cool. been there a few times now. only three guys makes it really hard to get stuff done. they contract out for the body kits from a place like 2 hours from where they are as i understand. that makes it hard also. the few things i have got from them have been right on time. im short on money and they where nice enuf to let me make payment on the stuff. so when i had it paid off it was there then or really soon after.

this topic comes up on our board also www.escortracing.com one of the guys that works there is on our board and has to read it everytime. but he knows what the deal is so he just posts call us.
