well 2 nights ago i was racing downhill with VORMAV in his white 93dx and the stop sign was coming up quick and normal braking and downshifting werent working, so i used my ebrake that slowed me quite fast , as my brakes in the rear dont lock the tires up, so it was all good, but he said the was nothing but brake smoke behind me, he thought i blew the engine lol, good times....so i dunno if thats brake fade for ya or not, but i was funny and memoribleNo more protege, Mx-3 now...Only known BP powered Mx-3 in Nova Scotia

Heh... There might be a deeper problem here.. my car has a near identical braking system i dont have any problems with fade with a SINGLE hard burst from 130-85... .. if you had gotten on them recently from a simliar speed they might not have cooled off enough to be effective...-torp.

well you have to remeber that constant hard braking causes the pads to heat up.. Once they get to a certain point they start to glaze .. This **** happens a lot with OEM pads to.. I only notice it on the Protege when I really frigin dog it ... I mean really dog it .. the cross drilled and slotted rotors , do their job. I just wish I had some decent rear brakes ..

Brake fluid is DIRT CHEAP and easy to replace. It'll take less than an hour and less then 10 bucks. Do it, bleed them well, and have brakes again."Never run out of real estate, traction & ideas at the same time"

I bled my brakes for the first time since I bought the car when I put on my SS lines. Let's just say that both things done makes a huge difference in braking and pedal feel.Clint/1999 "Sport20"

i tend to get brake fad when i drive it really hard.....your best bet, is to switch out to the ES calipers and rotors, they are1 inch bigger, thats my next mod......then swap out you fluid with some DOT 4(i think),whatever the highest boiling point fluid that isnt the silicone stuff...also you could get some SS lines from goodridge..I tend to get my brake fade after i boil the fluid...hehe, gotta drive hard to even keep pace with a bike thats just cruising(i was riding with my bro)
