i was looking at the underbody projected demensions between the 4door and the hatchback...
all horizontal dimensions across the cars remain the same with exception to 1 place....
there is a slight difference between the rear strut tower mounts... the hatchback having the larger distance between mounting points.
correspondingly the hatchback is 4mm larger between points. 1132mm compared to 1128mm (44.41"/44.57")
measurements in the FSM are given from the direct center of the strut mount to the direct center of the other strut mount...
i know that 4mm isn't jack for **** but what changes could this make?
it makes the struts sit slightly at more of an angle outwards then that of the protege.
suspension moderators...care to give input on how this effects the car?
technically this could also make a difference on mounting a rear strut tower bar.
a rear protege one would be a slightly tighter fit onto a hatchback or a PITA who knows. unless its adjustable in which case it wouldn't matter.
vertically:
its already known that the 323 has a slightly shorter wheel base.
which origniates from the rear sear cushion back to the strut tower mounts. that section is 50mm or 2.03" shorter. the actuall car length difference comes from the section behind the spare tire towards the rear. 139mm or 5.47".
thoughts opinions???
