Alright all of you First Genners...

I am running out of Ideas here.... I can't stop my cd player from totally skipping @ higher volumes.... I am beginning to think its the cd mechanism itself... if thats the case I am a sad panda!

ANY WHO... When you installed your HU did you have to remove the support piece from the back of the housing to get your HU in? Because I had to and I think that might be the source... I flipped the dash kit upside down and that helped out some... or is it just time to get a new HU? Keep in mind the thing is like brand new still...

You have prolly read my complaints about this before and to my knowledge I haven't heard anything from a first genner...

I have almost completly narrowed it down to the HU itself.... Now sometimes the sub will cut out completly and it won't come back on until I turn off the HU and turn it back on again... I checked my grounds and everything seemed to be in order the wierd thing is the amp stays on when this happens and I did not see the protection light come on... I think I am just going to rip everything apart and start over... I wanted to move my power cable anyways plus I am going to be putting in my orions soon and I will have to run new speaker wire anyways. So I guess I have a couple of hours to figure it out one day... definatly diching the HU when I can get a new one fasho!

That support piece is the rear support for the radio...without it you are putting all of the support on the front part of the dash, so if you did that then I wouldn't doubt it skipping because it would flop a little up and down.

Ofcourse I don't own any CDs and am perfectly satisfied with my Miata radio.

Yeah I figured thats what it was for.

Now I am stuck again, The green led that says the amp is on and fine turns red when it cuts out but the protection led doesn't light up the power led just turns red.... I will have to look @ the trouble shoot to see what this means... even though I know it won't be in there.
