Full-size spare fit in the trunk?

I am going to be getting some new tires, but I'd like a full-size spare. Is there enough room in the spare tire well of the trunk to fit a 185/65R14 tire?

What are the dimensions of the spare tire wheel? Will the full-size tire fit on that wheel?

    I hate donut tires Thanks!

Strangely enough, a full-size spare fits in my trunk with no problem putting the board back on top.

OK, I'll give it a shot. What about fitting the full-size tire on the spare donut steel wheel?

I plan on cutting a new board out of 1/4" or 3/16" plywood. The lauan crap that's on there now sucks.

cablemirc - I'm guessing that the wood wouldn't fit because of those rubber stoppers on the bottom of the lauan board.

I think 92 and earlier had these cheesy supersmall 12" wheels in the trunk, my 93 DX had a 14" on the trunk (and 13" on the ground ) . Anyways you won't be able to fit anything useful on the 12" wheel. Maybe you can just find a steelie in the j/y instead.

I remember being able to fit my 16" wheel with a 205/45 tire in the spare tire well when i had a flat once..... and as far as i know, 323 spare tire wells are identical to protege wells.
True that the stock trunk board wouldn't fit flush and sat raised a bit but the wheels were 16x7.5" and it was just for a short time.... but just FYI.....

FYI, I bought a 14" steelie with tire full-size tire on it at the junkyard and it fits perfectly in the well in the trunk. Now for the carpeted plywood flooring...
