    autocross in Tampa, October 26th

What: Central Florida Region's LAST event in Tampa for 2003.

Where: Florida State Fairgrounds, Tampa. About 2 miles west of the I-4, I-75 intersection.

When: October 26th. Registration starts at 8. First car out at 10.

Who: ANYONE interested in participating or watching. The Fairgrounds has a ton of GOOD spectator areas, close to the action, with plenty of shade. A couple of other clubs show up from time to time and put on a little get together while some of the members race.

Why: because it's fun? because you'll learn how to really push your car? because maybe you'll meet some new friendly people who like cars? Because it's fun to show some rich guy in a vette or porsche what a little Protege can do

Requirements to run: valid driver's license and a car to drive. If you guys want to share a car, that's fine too.

Cost: $30 bucks for non SCCA members, 20 for members.

    www.cfrsolo2.com has some more info.

post here questions, comments, thoughts, plans, etc.....

Hopefully see a few of you guys there.

It's gonna be unlikely because SCCA Florida Region in conjunction with Equipe Rapide SCC have an event scheduled on the 25th of October in Miami. 99% of the people on this part of the forum are East coast people and the people who like me are in the championship chase, need to run this event for the points. Its the penultimate event.
All the info and updates can be found on the ER website http://autox.carlc.com

BTW, Jesse, you need to mention that certified helmets are required in addition to the car and valid driver's licence

Well, we have loaner helmets avalible, so it's not necessary.

And it's for anyone, not just members of the club.

Yep, same here..... events in the South Florida region have always been open to non-members.
At pretty much any event around the country though, you want the loaner helmets to really be your last resort option.

Points #9 event here in ATL that day. Hopefully, I'll be able to hammer down 3rd in points for the season. Still 3 events to go (including points 9). Good luck, Jesse.

            Here's ES in my region.

And FWIW, Brian Heitzman, Neal Tovsen, Shawn Phillips, and Katie Lacey were all driving my car when they got points in ES.

            Sadly, nobody shows up.
