January ushers in the new year and the very first RotM winner for 2005. That person would be Bruce95fmla and his 2nd Generation Mazda Protege. Bruce has been the forerunner of the 2nd Gen guru for several years now. He has recently ventured into the realm of the 1st Gen Protege world with the purchase of a 1991 323. Im sure many of you stumbled upon the "Protosport Racing" web site in your quest for Protege owners and knowledge, I know I did. Congratulations Bruce, you earned it! I applaud your priceless contribution to furthering the good of the Protege community. Now on to the cars!

A little on Bruce and his cars:
As most would know, my name is Bruce. I joined the protege community in 1997 once I attained ownership of a 1995 mazda Protege. I also recently purchased a 1991 mazda 323 which is included in the photo's. I am 27 years old and a resident of new york. Aside from cars my other main love is Photography. I have actually practiced this hobby way before I even thought about cars, however that is a long story, so lets stick to the cars right now.
My 1991 Mazda 323 became a reality after I found myself hopelessly surfing the 323gtx forums. Upon swaping the 1.5 out of my 1.8 the dream because a reality as I needed a second car. I lucked out and got this car for 600 dollars. It has undergone a lot of work including a BPswap, Pacesetter headers, Intrax lowering springs, Pilot steering wheel and a custom axle back exhaust. I just recieved a imported GTR rear upper spoiler, Front and Rear Lower tie bars (thanks to MazdaRacer), Rear GTR hollow sway bar (thanks to cablemirc) and also the vj20 turbo and manifold. All due to be installed very soon.
Seating poition is enhanced via a set of mx-3 seats, that I picked up from a fellow protege owner. It was nice to sit lower in the car and have a more sporty feel and ride, however I could not see a darn thing at night and a call had to be made to Germany to import a set of Espec lights and corners. These lights were a major improvement, not only in visibility but also in saftey.
This is pretty much me. I was pretty surprised, I really didn't think I would stand a chance at winning this as I don't really feel either of my cars are at the stage that I want them to be, but then are they ever.
Thanks for the nomination guys. Protege owners are the every day winners in this community. I am just glad I am able to be a part of this excellent crew.
Thanks Bruce Scott
