    N/a MR2

    i raced one of these from a stoplight, wasnt really that great of a race, only got up to mid-3rd gear. but i was mabye 5-10 feet in front of him by then... and yes he was racing, he instagated the race as a matter of fact.

          My MR2 ran a best of a 15.9 @ 82mph. It's only performance modifications are a K&N drop-in and ditching the muffler.

          In reality, he should put at least a car length on you at the launch, and then you'll slowly close up the gap from there.

            it was one of those things where you are next to eachother at the light, and dont acknowlage eachother, and when it turns green, you both wait for the other guy to make the move, and then you both MAKE THE MOVE and gun it.

              yeah, if you do that, the MR2 should still get an advantage through 1st and possibly 2nd.

              To launch a NA MR2, even on the street, you basically drop the clutch somewhere upwards of 3500 rpm.

                From what i've read a stock NA MR2 should run a mid/low 16... i'm gonna agree with Jesse that if you'd both launched from a stop the MR2 would have jumped ahead for a few seconds.

                      8.5 0-60 for the N/A model. A DOHC protege should be a bit under that with a good driver.

                        A stock N/A model is capable of high 15s. I know, I have one, and it runs a high 15. A stock Protege isn't...

                          uh, i dont know about protege's, but my friend has a Escort gt, and he ran a 15.9 stock, there are others on FEOA.net that'll say the samr

                            I think the difference comes down to driver skill... the RWD mid engine SHOULD launch faster.
