Amp Possibly Crapped Out On Me...

So yeah, I was listening to music at a low vol. level and it just stopped playing, hasn't turned back on since, even by doing my little tricks... I watched the amp as it would power up and the protect led would light up for a second and turn off, but all of the other lights on the amp stay on.

I guess I will take it to a shop and find out for sure, if its cheap to repair I will if not time for a new amp.

Any suggestions for the under $300 limit.
Something that is close to the rms of the brahma at least 1000w rms and is 1 ohm stable.

erm thats all for now ttyal.

what year brutus amp is that? have you tested it on some other speaker?

ya, it's possible a speaker went bad and it see's a lower impedance load and shuts down.

Don't know the year offhand, I didn't test it on a different speaker either.. Only because the led does not stay lit up, and I tried turning it on without the sub hooked up and it did the same thing.

it's probably an '03 and previous model. they had a few issues with them that got corrected when they redesigned the circuit board for '04.

Yeah I think its possibly an older model whatever the 20th anniversary series was. The amp is dead for sure I hooked it up to a different sub my old kenwood svc 4ohm and the amp did the same thing.

What does anyone think of pioneer amps? A local shop has a new 1000w mono block for $179 I do believe.

You MIGHT get 1000 watts out of that thing if it was struck by lightning.

Get off my headlight dim biatch. I like it that way. Soon, I'll have enough stuff to make the car shut down because I'll be drawing too much power. Then I'll be happy.

i've had nothing but problems with pioneer amps. cough up a little extra dough and pick up a 1001BD series rockford amp.. most have actual birth sheets for their rms power @ 14.4V. so you can at least be assured that given the right circumstances, your amp will put out the rated wattage. needless to say, i have a second hand 501bd i got off of mike.. this puppy runs like a champ, always thumps.. has never overheated at all.. definately something to look forward to if you're interested in paying the extra couple bucks

What about an eD NINe.1? they sell used around $275, and everyone (including me) has been super happy with theirs.
