    M-P vs H-P

'92 Mazda Protege DX (Mine) vs '95 Honda Prelude Si (My Roommates)

I dumped the clutch and led for a couple hundred feet, he was tailing about a car length behind. he never dumped his clutch, just took off nice and easy. then he got on it somewhere between 2nd and 3rd gear.

    He wasted me.

    ....Obviously.

I will update whenever I swap that GTX motor in, I should be able to take him no prob.

Yeah, you will take him with no prob if you do a GTX swap. The Prelude Si came with a H23 which is Non-VTEC......160 hp, but like most H-Series motors, alot of torque when compared to other Honda motors.

      **Edit**
yeah the factory rating is 160hp and 156ft/lbs for an H23 @ 2866 lbs curb weight

my P'ge with a GTX motor is 176hp and 172ft/lbs @ 2359 lbs curb weight, on top of that my interior is gutted, which isn't a whole lot of weight but still reduces it a bit.

his gearing is extremely short though, mine is pretty tall compared to his, but I will still take him.

I used to have a 3rd gen Prelude with the B21A1, 140hp/135tq. It was lighter than the newer 'ludes and had tons of torque compared to a Civic/CRX

I know it's possible to fit an H22 in a CRX... but i'll be damned if I wanna give it a try. After all the work it took to squeeze a B18 in there I don't wanna mess with anything bigger. Besides, there's a guy in MD that had a 10 second EG hatch with a GSR motor making 500+whp.

the 4th gen ludes are fast as hell. My roomate had a 92 Si and that focker was fast.

I'd say it runs a low 15 and all it had was a ****ty ractive intake & 2.25" exhaust

                    yeah si's are quick.
my best friend has a 91 prelude si. its quick as **** with an n/a motor.
the guy that owned it before him built the motor and drag raced it
at a track. We raced a new toyota celica not to long ago from a 70 mph
roll and lets just say that you'd be surprised of the outcome.
we won. and what makes it really hard to believe is, the celica was
                    turboed.
