    fuel cut off

well i was driving around not redlining it but when i did the engine wouldnt go past 6500rpm (fuel cut off) while my other pros would nt cut out untill 8000or so

my question is can i change the fuel cut off to say 7500 or sumthing like that?

does anyone know how to do this?

i think that is because we have the SOHC. i know the DOHC has a fuel cut off of 7300(redline + 300)
When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

Not without a full standalone system. The cut-off is actually probably 6300RPM or so, at that point the tach isn't very accurate.

Going to 7300RPM on the DOHC is nice

You tach is most likely inaccurate, which is incredibly common. It's not IF your tach is off, it's by HOW MUCH.

the SOHC, at least the B6 has a cutoff at 6300, the BP has it at 7300. It's ecu controlled, so you cannot get rid of it without getting your ECU reprogrammed, or as charles said, getting standalone engine management.

POSER! Drive an automatic that way your engine will NEVER go past 6500 rpms while in gear . my car blows.. but hey, i got my engine to hit 7000 in neutral if that counts, heh

Not true. You can get an ecu chipped, where they can change the fuel cut off, the redline, the top speed governer, just depends on how much you want to pay. There is a local place In Dallas, Texas here that does it. Intercrew is the name of the shop.

Hmm, I'd swear my BP cuts off at 7400. But maybe its a second Gen thing.

heh, what the **** good does a speed limiter do for a 1st gen bro? everything else on the god damn car keeps us from going over 120... and even so, i think most of us auto lx and manual/auto dx guys are stuck below 115mph top speed anyway. there is no 'speed govener' to speak of, but the car is so aerodynamically draggy i guess, that it just won't peak over 115 down hill, and even so, it holds steady around 111 or 112 in 4th at 5,000 rpms or so (could be wrong). but i at least no that there is still some top end left in the motor anyway, there must be some other limiting factor i haven't taken into consideration. any ideas???!!!
