    1st mod for 02 proto5

i was online the other day and said that i had ordered a velocity module. i figured, what the f@#k it's $30.00 and if i don't like it i can return it. i recieved it yesterday(05-04-2005) and installed it. i took it for a test drive and the vehicle seems to run smoother and has, what feels like a bit more power than stock. i'm not convinced that it is 20 hp as advertised but as i said definately smoother and noticably more power.
now i'm not trying to be controversial but there is a member of this site who responded to me getting this product by saying, it is a huge waste of money and that the only thing about speed that it improves is the speed inwhich $30.00 leaves your wallet. to him, i must disagree. i'm not trying to sell this product but anything to improve the power efficiency of you vehicle. to those who are not familiar with this product the website is www.20Horsepower.com. take your chance but i like it so far.

That would be me! I'm happy that you think your vehicle runs more smoothly and has a bit more power than stock because that's all that counts. It's just too bad that Mazda didn't see fit to incorporate the electronics from this Velocity module into it's own PCM so that we could all benefit from increased smoothness and a bit more power. I guess this just confirms my belief that Mazda engineers are second rate (otherwise they would be designing Velocity modules).

Well, I advised against you buying this device but I understand, "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do."--John Wayne

    Happy Motoring!

i guess it could be a psychological thing, you know(wanting to feel something for your money) but seriously the engineers at mazda probably did htis just for the after-market world. that module does everything that every other perfomance module does, it's just alot cheeper.

ok here is another great question maybe an EXPERT like yourself can answer, ready:
why be such a smart ass? just say that was a bad idea and be done with it or just give a simple opinion and not one of those (in a beavis and butthead voice) what a dumbass. if you insist, what a stroke.

why should i not be a smartass, if you any real common sence you would have thought hmmmmmmmm 30 bux for 20hp, that just cant be possible........ you my friend have fallen into the same trap as every other young honda ricer. in reality all you bought was some crap resistor that pretends to trick the car in to thinking its running colder.

instead of taking offence to the mistake you made, chalk this up to a learning experiance, HP costs money, and not 30 bux.

its might be true about falling into that TRAP, however young i am not. probably older than you. if it is just a figment of my imagination, then i will chalk it up as a learning experience, if not then i won't. TRUCE!!!! by the way nice ass on the chick. that had to come from a porno.
so since i'm speaking to greatness, what do you think of the injen cold air intake cause i can't find any write ups on it. please give me your honest opinion and if it's bad recomend one for an 02 proto5 2.0.

hows $235.00 on www.protegegarage.com, also an obx header on the same site for $239.00. you can make the rest of the exhaust and then put a muffler on the end cheeper than a cat-back system and get more h.p.

lol its www.protegegarage.com, you got the spelling wrong, yeah i mean its all good stuff, but you will spend ass loads on intake, header, exhaust, for maybe 15-20hp.

You also might want to consider a cat back exhaust system. This will give you a small power gain, even more so if used with an intake and a header. One possibility is the Racing Beat cat back exhaust. Check it out at:

bro, just checked out that site. that system is $449.00+ shipping. the price of everything on protegegarare includes shipping. i would have to do the math and get prices on bending the pipe to make the exhaust but i think i could get the header, intake and a muffler and onlybe about $100-$120 over the cost of that cat-back alone. makes sense right.

thats what i would do, id buy the intake, and header, then just have a shop do an exhaust, its much cheaper that way.
