Magnetic/regular switch to kill ignition/starter, etc.

As of right now i'm not trusting my alarm 100% as everybody knows that alarms have the built in starter kill via relay, etc. So i'm wondering about doing a switch of sorts to either kill the ignition/start/fuel from a not close to under the steering wheel area, etc. Is there something on the ECU that i can get to, to say put a switch in and it'll do what i want and at the same time be hard to trace back since its from the ecu?! Thanks for listening to my wild ideas!

you can make a fuel cut off switch by splicing an extension to the power wire for the fuel pump,(under the rear seat)... slap a switch on and place it where ya like!

You could also use this same method on the starter instead of the fuel pump (my personal preference) so it wouldn't even crank.

I agree with Jnorion, b/c if they sit there cranking and cranking it trying to get it to start it will kill the battery and continue to turn over but not run b/c of no fuel. Where as no starter, it will only sit there and click like its dead.

nah, just hit up the FSM in pdf and figure out which wire in the connectors on the starter is the signal from the ignition and splice that one under the steering column. Install your kill switch where ever you want to hide it and call it a day.

if you have an alarm with a starter kill look under the steering column to find the big fat wire that they spliced into for the alarm...that would be your starter wire....**** the starter...there are ways to get the car started if they want to steal it that bad....but a switch inline of the power wire to the coil...

No matter where you put the switch there are ways around it if they want it that badly... the idea is that they'll give up and find a car that doesn't give them trouble instead of working on yours.

Oh, I meant that as it IS worth putting one in, because if the car doesn't start easily they'll leave. Personally I think that would have more value than an alarm. Both is best, of course.

I don't think a thief would suspect a fuel pump cut off switch under the seat and such. A starter kill is a duh on knowing about it and also bypassing it. So yeah i'll go the fuel route i guess for now ontop of the alarm!

Not if you put the cutoff under the hood instead of at the steering column.
