    Edmunds Accuracy ???

ok Check this out ... If you go to edmunds website, click here , you will see three different Versions of the 2nd gen mazda protege (1995-1998).
Ok know if you click on the dx and then check the curb weight it says 2385lbs.. ok cool
But then if you go to the lx it also says 2385lbs hmm...
and if you also click on the ES , it also says 2385lbs.. Bull****...

I have to question the accuracy of Edmunds.com because there is no way these 3 levels of this car weigh the same.
I can understand the dx and lx being close, but there will still be a difference with the power windows, power locks and sunroof.

    This can't be right...

But if you research the 1995 Honda Civic ...
click here choose a model and then choose specifications..
it gives you 3 different weights for the DX,LX, and EX ...

    This seems more acurate.

Yeah, the 3rd gens are all the same, too. I'd guess they were just lazy and only looked up one. (Does Mazda publish different specs for the different trim levels? I never looked.) You're right though, the weights should be different, not by much, but maybe 50-100 lbs (just a guess).

I would also think (though I don't KNOW) that the weight is incorrect.

        I'd say more like 2835 - not 2385.

I can say with reasonable certainty that the Protege has never weighed in less than 2500 lbs, and the current models (P5 included) are over 2800, regardless of transmission (auto is 50lbs heavier or so).
