    91 egt vs evo 8

    yes before you all go off on me about how im smoking crack, i know what the evo 8s are capable of.

    so me and my cousin are going out to the hills by the coast to go shooting. we are one block from the freeway in my cousins 91 egt, i started chuckling and saying i wished i had my car SO bad right then, my cousin didnt understand then looked over to see the evo 8 with black tinted windows, lowered, and a large fmic (stock muffler on his exhaust) and me haveing the turbo lxe he understood then the light turned green and the evo didnt launch at all, neither did my cousin, but he floored it in 2nd and then the evo spooled out... honestly it wasnt too impressive.... anyway we were headed toward the onramp which went under the freeway then there was a 270degree loop the evo was ahead of us and so my cousin got on it... my cousin litterally was on his bumper through the entire corner, not really pulling on him but keeping up with NO problem at all... then we hit the freeway and from 60-70 or so to about 90 the evo pulled about a full car length maybe a car and a half... with an NA egt... i bet that guy was wondering wtf was up? i wish i had my car that day

    You sir, are a tard. An Evo would KILL a EGT anyday. And dont pull out that weight **** on me. I do think your story is correct. Either you embelished it like a mo fo, or the Evo wasnt giving you anything.

        you just described a bone stock evo with tint. and he wasn't givin you anything, if he wouldn've actually gotten on it you wouldn't have seen his tails for very long.

            Just because it spooled doesn't mean he was racing you... they spool fairly low, and I routinely hit 4-5k rpms on freeway onramps when I'm driving normally. He could easily have hit full boost without actually pushing it too hard.

              Yea, i dont think he was racing you. An egt with 2 passengers beating a E-VIII sounds sinful.

              However, since the windows were tinted we dont know what type of load s/he was carrying.
              If you're really anal when it comes to the contortion of the english language, or ne-sh*t you find hard to let pass, you should take "THE MANS" advice get a butt lube.....

                Either way, theyve been known to hit very high 12's stock ( Motor Trend ) , but are usually 13 second cars... he wasent racing

                  I had my ass kindly handed to me by an evo when I raced one in my S/C'd F150. It was a 3-way in SD, me, a Z3, and a blue evo, it wasn't even funny how fast that thing took-off, I swear it jumped off the ground, but Z3's are slow ****boxes . My friend and I raced one in his turbo 260Z, it was a little more equal, but we still got owned. It was funny listening to the guy shift that thing though, those things must have incredibly low gearing, that guy hit 3rd before we even fully wound 2nd, but his ass was also at my friends front bumper.

                    If your F150 is a SC'd Lightning, then i beleive it is also a high 13 or so second truck? Which would backup the statement of the evo being a low 13 second car if it beat you... i dont think your EGT runs low 13's or can take a evo in the twisties as u kinda made it sound like

                      My truck is just a sport edition F150 with a Vortech V1 SC/ intercooled 5.4L. I ran against the evo at 6lbs of boost with no intercooler. At that time I ran 0-60 in 5.83 on the GTech, and a quarter of 14.59 Gtech. I have since upped the boost to 10lbs, intercooled it, added gibson headers, a Granatelli MAS (programmed for the SC), a BBK 75mm throttle body, and a race-spec bypass valve. I'm looking to have the ECU reprogrammed because it has issues shifting from first to second, it coughs like it's overrevving or something, kind of weird, but it needs to run richer anyway. The evo pretty much jumped ahead about a car length then stayed there slowly pulling away. I raced a WRX (not sti) and we were dead even up a hill until 110MPH and my governor said no more.

                      I would agree with everyone else that your EGT unless something extraordinary would have been owned if that evo driver so desired.

                      These are the lightning specs, for a 2001 model.

                      0-60 mph: 5.2 sec
                      0-100 mph: 13.6 sec
                      Quarter Mile: 13.7 sec @ 101 mph
                      Skidpad: .88g
                      Top Speed: 146 mph

                        a real Familia GTR isnt ready for a EVO6

                        why in gods name would you think that a N/A 40 thousand year old Escort GT would be able to even dream of trying to act like it could ever come close to having a chance at staying within 40 car lengths of a evo8?

                        oh yeah....i have a egt....and my buddy at school has a evo8

                        would you guys like to know what evo 8 does to a little escort when its really being pushed?

                        how does 3 and a half bus lengths sound by 90 mph...oh wait...I got to 90....he shut down 135

                            I own an EVO RS...this story makes my head hurt. He must have not even noticed you. The EVO is so much faster than my BP 323, I don't even know where to point out your inaccuracies. a BPT 323 wouldn't stand a chance...
