does anyone know if the 550cc injectors out of a second gen rx-7 (denso pn# 5050) can work with the gtr computer? i checked the resistance between the two and they seem to be quite different.
Thanks
Andrew

yeah, i'm an rx-7 guy, but insurance is a bit to high for me right now. one of our old employee's was building this car, he was our computer guy so he didn't know much about the car, I helped him along with the build, ie. wiring and welding for the exhaust and ic. So yes, i baiscally built this car for him. Things happened that i don't feel right to post up on the board, and he was asked to leave the garage on bad events and wasn't welcom back. The thing was, he was building the car but never had it transfered into his name. I was offered the opportunity to buy the car for $2500 and couldn't pass it up. So yes, He sourced out the motor and wiring diagrams, dropped in the engine, but all the rest was me and the owner of the shop. Ps. I am a mechanic so i do know my way around cars.

GTR injectors are ~440cc/min, I hand mine maxed out running a little over 350BHP. The RX7 ones fit the car, but you'll need something to tune them with to stop the car running pig rich all the time. You need to change the wiring connectors on the loom, RX7 ones are square, GTR ones are oval. If you use the high impedance injectors, you alos need to bypass the ballast resistors on the GTR AFM, low impedance just need the connectors changing.
One thing you should understand is that you can't just slap bigger injestors on and espect your car to work with them right away. Like 323GT-R said your car will run rich like buttermilk. Why ? your new injector will shoot much more fuel for the same opening time than your last ones did. You need a way to adjust your Injector dead time (best way) or a least trick your airflow senor (Maf,Vaf,Mas) into seeing less air then the real thing so you will shoot less gaz (worst way but works)
Now how it is done on GTX-GTR engines, I know really know, I'm a DSM guy and we have MAFs and very different ECUs.
Good luck

Ahhhh, yea I remember your thread with pics. Very very nice car. I see you have a different turbo coming, I'm sure you should sell the VJ23 for a decent amount on here to some of the VJ20 guys It probably uses the same manifold, eh?
