    Master/slave cylinder life

How long do the hydraulic components of our clutch systems last? My Protege has 103,XXX miles on it. I don't do a lot of city driving, but how can anyone avoid stop-and-go driving once in a while? I do take several road trips each year and don't want to be stranded far away with a dead clutch.

I figure if the parts aren't too expensive and most hydraulic components last only until, say, 120K, I figure I would just replace them now as preventative maintenance.

    Thanks!

For the exact reason(s) I stated in my first post.

    Thanks.

Edit: I typo'd in the first post. Changed "are" to "aren't," thanks.
