    And down goes a GSR.......

Well, since my protege is no longer my DD, I decided to entirely gut and strip the car. Only a steering wheel, 1 seat, shifter, and pedals, and the dash to are left. Anyhow, I figured i probably shed a good 100lbs or so. I was out cruising around for no apparent reason. When I stumbled across this teggy GSR with a body kit and exhaust. So, I couldnt resist the temptation, so I followed him around a bit. Waiting for no traffic and a good straight. Finally I got up next to him, about 35mph. As I was coming up on him, he started to get on it, so did I. I was about 1/2 car behind him when he got on it. I hit 3rd and slowly started creeping up on him. But had to shut down due to a light. So we get to go from a dig. Light goes green, 4k rpm launch, spins my tires but they are sweet TOYO proxies and have excellent grip, so I jumped about a car in front. It stayed that way until I hit 3rd, then started creeping away from him. Boo ya grandma. LOL.

We pulled off and chatted for a bit, only thing done to the car was the bodykit and exhaust. The guy thought my car was some rare version of an accord. He looked pretty stunned when I was like, naw its a 91 Protege.

Good shiat, those GSR's are fast, but I think the type R's are faster right? Have you run your car in the 1/4 with all the interior gone?

        About flaming

        Mazda 323 BP05 vs. Integra

This is why sometimes this forum is sometimes lame, if it is a Protege with a BP05 everybody agrees with the guy on the racing story, but if it s Mazda 323 with a BP05 I am full of ****.

Its incredible how I got so flamed just because it is a 323 racing against GSR's and smoking them left and right. Everybody asking for dyno chits, videos, tons of crap...

By the way mine is not stripped, still have A/C, but no Power Steering, good kill.

          *raises hand*

whether or not you beat whoever, the simple fact is that a Protege that runs 15.8 *should* not beat a GSR. They are faster than that. Driver made the difference....apparently.

well all things being equal a BP powered 323 should be faster than a BP powered Protege based solely on the weight differential.

              weight reduction

              How much for the gauges?

              Talking about reducing weight,

I have never done it but I heard...

              > the heat shield covers all the way from the header to the muffler is around 15 pounds.
              >The secondary A/C fan is about 3-4 pounds
              >Spare tire is about 15-20 pounds
              > The Pacesetter header is a quarter less heavy than the stock steel header

              >I know there is a guy on this forum that has spare doors without the glass and completely gutted and he claims a reduction of maybe 15 pounds per door or so.

I am not into removing stuff in my car but this is some stuff I have heard around this forum.

Could just make it easier and video tape all of your races instead of just telling us storys about them ( this isent directed at you, everyone in general )

That'd be nice, but it's sort of hard to keep a vid cam with you at all times while driving. Most street races are spur-of-the-moment. Have you ever tried to drive and hold a vid cam, it's not an easy task. I want one of those camera mounts that attach to roll bars, that'd be cool.

yea but if you had a cam mounted in your car and got cought street racing not only would you get charged with one racing charge but all of the races that were on the tape true?
