    gtx wiring !? !?!?!

i need ANY help possible w/ this problem. Im swapping a GTX into my 94 lx, and im using the gtx harness and gtx ecu. The problem is, i dont know if the yellow ecu plugs will go right into the gtx ecu w/o modding, and I need to use my 2 other plugs (black and white) from my lx, which means in need to swap out wires from the gtx harness, but i dont know which ones to swap.. if anyone knows how to do this, or anyone who has done this swap please help me out. any help is much appreciated!!

      wait a sec...you have

      A. GTX engine
      B. GTX Harness
      C. GTX ECU

why would you need any of the LX harness? you doing something funky?

Ive talked to you on AIM before, hit me up again. I can tell you what wires to splice if your gonna use your LX harness.

is splicing of the LX harness required if you use the GTX motor, ECU and harness? i thought it was plug and play?

Ya, hes talking about those, they have nothing to do with plugging into your ECU directly, your going to need to splice about 10 of those wires from the black and white plugs into the current black and white plugs on the gtx harness, for things like coil power, fuel pump, a light, some other little things.

so you do have to splice wires with a GTX motor, ecu and harness to get it to run in a LX?

                anyone have the wiring diagram?

Since Japanese cars are right hand drive, the harness goes through the firewall in a different location. Some people had to extend the j-spec harness in order for it to fit properly.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO DRILL A NEW WHOLE IN THE FIREWALL....tge only wires you have to lengthen are the ones used for the black and white plugs that you splice into each other...thats it.

Are those the ones that are somewhat "under" the ECU?

Well, JordyB may have gotten a LHD harness... or did something creative. But my harness is WAY shorter than the LX harness, so it will have to be lengthened. This is a J-spec GTX harness I am speaking of.

The other thing is, as mentioned, the black and white plugs. They are different between the GTX and LX.

On the LX harness, there are actually two white plugs. There is one thick blue wire on one plug, and nine other wires on the other. On the GTX, all ten wires are on one white plug. Now some of the colors of the wires are different on these white plugs, but most look the same. I'll have to write it all out by hand to see what. It's kinda hard to look at though. My guess is these different colored wires have to do with the fuel pump wiring, as described on rkives page. (I had those unplugged at one point and my fuel pump wouldn't operate).

Another interesting thing is that the black plug is physically the same on both harnesses -- however the GTX harness has a lot more wires going into it. I suspect this is the dash connector. The GTX has a boost lamp and overboost buzzer. The extra wires may be to accomidate this. I'm not sure if the black connector will be plug and play.

As far as I know, this is the most detailed write-out of the wiring differences I've seen.

If somebody wants to explain what exactly to do with the black and white connectors, I'm all ears...
