2002 LX tire size, can I go up????

the car now has 195/55/15. Can I put 195/60/15????? I'm hoping that I won't hit the shocks. Stock tires appear to be very small.

As TheMAN said, why would you want to go to a higher aspect ratio sidewall? This will only degrade the handling of the car as the taller sidewall will increase tire squirm. For improved handling, you want to increase the tread width and decrease the sidewall height. Consider switching to 205/50-15 tires as this is an acceptable fit on your 6" wide OEM rims and will only produce a 1.6% speeedometer error.

I know about handling. I just can't pass this deal on the tires. My only concern is wether it'll fit, so any one?

Because the taller (larger aspect ratio) sidewall degrades handling. In terms of handling, switching to a taller than OEM sidewall is a retrograde step.

That was directed at the guy wanting bigger sidewalls.. why?

And if thats the case, wouldent the Low Profile tires with almost no sidewall be the best handlers?

Sorry, I thought you were asking the question. My error. In general, the lower the sidewall, the better the handling. However, usable aspect ratio is determined both by wheel width and ride comfort constraints. The lower the aspect ratio, the harsher the ride.

The original question dealt with a stock 6" wide wheel. It's not advisable to use an aspect ratio lower than 50 on that width rim.
