thx! i just emailed an online tire retailer and asked if we could negotiate the price on tires! hopefully he'll say yes.

it's hard work to be a cheap bastard. but it all pays off in the end

At that price, why should he turn them down. They look good as hell and besides, in some towns/cities the roads may be to ruff to run a 40 series sidewall so people will opt for the 16's with a 45 series 205.

well i seriously was thinking between 16 and 17, and i decided that 17 may look a little out of place on my car. i've seen groharlem's (wil?) car with 17s and other ppls with 16s and i think the 16s would be quite nice. just dont be jealous cause i robbed this guy haha

it's all personal preference.. as are 90% of mods to cars...

i want 17".. i like them.. seen a few with them. think 18 is too much though... but for some reason, 19 kinda looks neat..

Great price. I think I'd deal with 16's for that price.

I personaly need 16s if I ever go for rims, too many pot holes for a 40 series 17 or up.
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

If/when I do rims they'll be 15's, possibly 16's. 17's where I live just aren't practical. There's construction somewhere 100% of the time and I'm not willing to drive some convoluted route 10 miles out of my way just because I wanted to put 17's on my car. I've had 17's before but with a 245/45 and a 255/50 tire (obviously not on a protege :p: )

Besides, I'm more into function over form so the larger the wheel the further the majority of the weight is from the rotating axis, regardless of how light the wheel is. This is a detriment to acceleration, handling, and braking abilities. Those three are further up the list than 'appearance' for me.

Good buy on the wheels - you'd have a hard time beating that price...
