It sure is custom. Either that or a flipped Miata manifold?

Nah, not a Miata manifold. I don't think we've ever seen this before.

looked quality to me.... I've built several manifolds before and this stuff looked nicer than my last manifold I made.

I know the guy who had that manifold, He ended up swapping in a bp and selling the mx-3. He sent the manifold back to his buddy and got a one made up for a Swift GTI I haven't seen the new ride yet but I bet it's pretty quick, with just headers on the GTI he was running low 16's at 3600ft elv....thats with about 90 horse at the wheels.

                          that looks identical....uncanny...

$820 for a new turbo and high quality manifold is VERY reasonable.

That manifold was made out east, that is the same manifold in both pics, I had that exact pic from Kyle before it was ever on a car domain site, it was taken with a spare BP head he was porting and flow testing.

If someone in Calgary said they made it I would really like to know who.

PS, check your damn pm's on beyond!

That pic in the sig is of my old setup before ceramic coating, and the auction was my old setup. I haven't told anyone that I made that manifold as Rick knows, but maybe it's one of those things where stories change as they get passed along.

Considering you can easily spend over $800 on just a turbo, $650-$750 for a manifold like that, $150-$250 for the dp, and then the money to ceramic coat, that was a fantastic deal for whoever picked it up.

I've gone the cheap route before. I picked up the weld els, welded a log-style up very quick with my crappy tire MIG welder. The weenie manifold was causing too much backpressure in the higher rpm (car sounded like crap even). So I changed to individual runner style, changed everything including new pipes in the garage within a of couple days. Car ran better with that manifold and the 1.3 gti made 193whp on that setup. I sold the car, got married yadada. So really, I can't discourage people from doing it themselves, because I've done it and I know you can have awesome results. However, the Turbine Tech manifolds like that take longer to build than my entire last setup did and there are differences that make it worthwhile beyond just looks. As far as I know they still have a jig and can make more of the BP manifolds. The new Swift has a Turbine Tech manifold and even though the manifold was already built it took me a week longer to do the whole setup with a little more attention to detail than the last one. The manifold was nice to have done though as everything starts from there.

The mx3 would have made tons of power with that setup especially with the nice head on the BPs... I had the majority of the parts I needed...but it was simply cheaper for me to get back into Swifts. I hope the new owner of the BP goodies keeps people updated of how it goes.
