Found this in the archive...
Looks like the spring perch is a different diameter on the struts and thus the springs wouldn't seat properly.1998 Mazda BHALP SE - Rain Forest Green Mica

fronts, no
fronts on 2g = smaller diameter at the bottom than 1g springs.
1g springs look more like a cone, towards the bottom they are larger in diameter than they are at the top where the strutmount is.
The rears are pretty much the same from top to bottom & actually you CAN use 2g springs on a 1g or vice versa
I know this from experience. I installed 2g 2.4" B+G extreme lowering springs onto my white protege back in the day93' Noble Green MX-ZE (sold )
