take a look below and see what you think. The auction said it was for the SOHC motor but it worked fine. As for if it made a difference, that is highly subjective. I think it did, I wanna say I can feel a differance in the seat of the pants, but I'd be hard pressed to give a diffinitive yes. The sucking sound coming from under the hood sounds like it is breathing WAY WAY better. Kinda like the differance between sucking through a coffee stir straw vs. one of those big ol' 4 barrel McDonalds straws.

yes upgrading your intake is a nessicery mod. but remeber the what you see on e-bay is not the best of option. i would say buy an intake adaptor, for $6.50, and just buy a proper filter. the filters you see on e-bay are usually crap. the 3" intakes are not the best of options you actually lose torque with the 3" intake from VAF to TB, because of a lack in flow velocity.

heh, i've been running the 3 inch ebay intake for months now, and let me tell you... it's a FANTASTIC piece of ****. i mean, yeah, it allows for more air flow, but even that is limited by the MAF. i have no answer to your woes, as i still haven't fixed mine, but after battling with the e-bay seller, i spent 52 on the intake shipped, then had to PURCHASE the adapter seperately, the kit gives you nothing to mount your VAF to, and for the most part is worthless with out it. it depends, truely, i wouldn't recommend you purchase e-bay intakes. so far, 2 of the adapters have dry rotted and have begun to leak, so they've been replaced with new ones. i don't know where to begin bro. follow brock's recommendation for now and purchase the cone filter adapter and cone filter, custom mount that **** and maybe a speed shop around you can work on mocking up an intake for you.

I use alumized steel. they dont heat soak as fast as AL. sure it is a little heavier, but i prefer it. With this i can achieve tighter radi of bends.

Thats true, but i paid $35 shipped a while ago for an intake and adapter. you can get the adapter and filter now for $7.99 Id go for the Ebay. then you can buy the HKS or K&N filter for it.

The intake does make the engine and exhaust louder. For me...gave me a lil bit better on gas millege for some reason. I had the Ebay intake and the filter rusted out. So i put the stock airbox back on there, and damnnn HORRIBLE gasmillege. I could get 200-210 on my SOHC on a half tank. with the intake. Now i can barely get 185-190 On a Half tank with the stock intake.

So Yes to me it made a difference. Once i get another filter the intake will be back on my car. and gas millege will be at a premium again!
