    Pacesetter Monza Cat-Back Exhaust

I recently installed the 2.5" Pacesetter Monza Cat-Back Exhaust on my 1994 Mazda Protege LX. This system is also rumored to fit the Mercury tracer LXi and the Ford Escort GT. All of these are of the 1.8L DOHC variety. This system helps immensely by reducing back pressure and producing enough of the throaty growl that people are looking for. Even when I rev the car to its 7200 rpm redline this system never sounds like an angry hornet it just does'nt falter. The best sound is down low between 1500 and 4200 rpm. This systems emits a raspy sound that lets others know what you have. I intend to Dyno the car soon in order to give ya'll a good idea of the actual power improvement. Yes I can actually notice the difference down low, the car just starts pulling harder alot sooner. At about 1500 rpm maybe instead of around the 2500 rpm range. I have also noticed a gain in gas mileage of around 4mpg. The ease of installation was what suprised me the most, it hangs directly on the factory rubber hangers and requires only one weld, in the middle of the system where the two pieces of the mid pipe fit together. It is finished with black high heat paint and comes with dual chrome angle cut tips. I purchased this system from Summit Racing. The total price after shipping is $221.94. If you are looking to improve the acceleration of your car or add fuel economy or just add that performance growl or any combination of the three then this cat back is for you.

If you have any Q's send me a message or just post it on this thread. I will be willing to do the install for any one in the San Antonio or New Braunfels Texas area. You must be able to leave the car for a couple hours. For prices or info on the install or any advice with difficulties call 830-832-6795.

It's still NA but thats the way I want it for now. I would like to keep it in as low a class as possible for AutoCross. You're on here alot, who makes the best AutoX type suspension for the 94 Protege?

lol, ideally you have to piece the suspension together yourself.

ZX2 struts seem to be the choice for most (probably b/c the Mazdaspeed ones are 230 each), paired with Eibach/MX-3 H&R springs for the stiffest spring rates. ST sway bars, or you can replace yours with the ZX2 sway bar.
MazdaRacer makes a set of tie bars to help as well.
I dont know how "close to stock" your wanting to keep it... You could go all the way out with coilovers and camber plates if your looking for a competitve ride. Ask about MazdaRacers setup, as he used to AutoX seriously in the pro.
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

^^ thats pretty much the jist of it. Since this is an Exhaust thread, just hitthat search button and you'll have enough info to read for a week.

....used to autox the pro...geez dude, you've already dug it's grave...shame on you Donnie!

Yep pacesetter exhaust is good for what it is. Some ppl say that the muffler will rust out if you live in some of the northern states.I'm personally going to get the CorkSport 60mm catback exhaust .I will be going back to the dyno to see what I gained from it.

ideal NA gains are found with 2.25" piping, anything larger then that & your killing your lower end.
