WTT: My B6T/DE for a BP

I'm thinking about trading the engine in my Festiva for a DOHC BP. I'm going to be making a turbo header this winter, so I might as well swap in a BP and put an even larger turbo on so that I can make even more power. There is nothing wrong with my engine, it runs perfectly, I just want the bigger engine to make more power.

    My engine has:
    - Perfect compression, 155psi in all cylinders (when I had the head off, cross hatching could still be seen in the bores)
    - Idle vacuum is about 19 in. hg. at 750rpm
    - 1994 B6DE cylinder head, cams, and VICS intake manifold (supposedly flows a hell of a lot better then the B6T head)
    - New head gasket with B6T head studs
    - Hybrid turbo, IHI VJ11/VF11, which will come with a custom made intake pipe.

Since this engine is running B6DE electronics, it should be much easier to install then if it had B6T electronics. It has the potential to make well over 200whp as it sits with the turbo that is currently installed.

Looking for a non-turbo DOHC BP engine in the same condition, plus some cash because my engine is obviously worth more. I'm not too concerned about mileage so long as the engine doesn't piss oil, have low compression, or uneven compression. Engine is currently in the car and can be seen running. The car is either in Mississauga or Etobicoke (Ontario, Canada).

hey fred. I've got a BP in my garage. You can buy it. I dont want your B6T. You can buy mine for like 150 bucks, maybe a bit cheaper. I got it from a guy just to tear apart. It probably needs a full rebuild. I was told it has about 170K on it. I got it with no exhaust manifold, or water pump, or other accessories.

Oooooooh sounds good! Is it a Ford BP or a Mazda BP? Do you have any pics? Do you know what condition its in? If it has 170k on it, and it was maintained, there should still be lots of life in it.

Yes, there are differences between the BPs that were in Fords and the BPs in Mazdas.

          Main one being the MBSP's.

Wasn't that just a difference between the years of the BP?

The ford is rated at 2 hp more (probably an ECU thing?) ... anything else that is different?

              It's my understanding that it's a Ford/Mazda thing.

I've also heard from a guy who was doing alot of work on BP heads that the Ford heads always seemed to be the ones with rougher castings and such.

hmm interesting. i checked the original thread running in the bp engine section..but i was left with a question. Are all BP powered Fords running a Ford BP? Because EGTs have been known to be equipped with different valve covers but beyond that, I don't think many people were aware of the differences on the escort boards. Which also makes me wonder what the Tracer LTS came with? I would assume a straight Ford BP...

Mazda made all of the motors...but it has been noted that the ones in the Ford's have rougher casting marks.

Um, this thread isn't to talk about the difference between engines, it's for me to get rid of my engine. Couldn't you guy make another thread rather then post all these irrelevant posts here?
