    Alternator replacement.

I am currently upgrading the base power circuit in my 95 LX. Meaning I am routing a 5 point ground loop under the hood for better current flow back to the battery. I need to know if there is a higher output alternator available as an aftermarkter part for a 95 LX 1.8L DOHC? Hmmm? huh? Hmmm?

last time i checked there was none. so you're s.o.l.

also, there's this place where they can upgrade your alternator. i'm not too sure about the place, website, or anything else concerning this company. this was two years ago when i searched and searched and searched.lol i don't really remember, it was too long ago.

you can always have the alternator shop add more brushings to your exsisting alternator. i throw in differnt alt into mine and i'm pushing 85 amps. can't remember what car it came out of. i think a NA rx-7. you can always ask the shops for compatible ones.

check out DB Electrical Rebuilders... i called them about the alt. in my 98 pro 1.5 and they can rebuild the alt and get about 165 amps out of it.

Impressive... would that be enough? I am also trying to figure out how to shoeworn in a 1000 amp battery, perhaps an optima red top. Should be easy enough once I relocate the breather box...

that should be pretty good... im not sure of the exact formula for figureing out how many amps you should have but i've seen these 2 before.....

you need 10 amps per 100 watts of stereo equipment

you need 7.5 amps per 100 watts of stereo equipment.

both of those however mean you need that many amps for your stereo equipment plus whatever it takes to run all the stuff the alt always powers like lights and what not.

I have had good luck with dropping in a 1000 amp battery in my cars and other people's cars to cure dimming lights or at least improve the situation.

Are Z5 alternators the same ones used on BP's?
