Im contiplating the idea of swapping in a 2.0 mazda speed engine into my 95 escort gt. Looks like the engine capartments are almost the same in size shape. Mounting points also look close to the same. Anybody ever seen this done or tryed it?

I believe that the reliability of the FS motor suffers a lot under the stress of 300hp ... something the BP can handle better. Then again this is from what I have seen people experience.
But, like I said, the FS electronics are OBD2 whereas the BG is an OBD1 standard. You will need a complete set of sensors + the wiring loom for both the motor and the dash inlcuding a cluster to match. You will also need the FS tranny and will need to be able to bolt that up to the BG chassis.
IMHO, it is not worth it from a practical standpoint. For the price of the swap + upgrading the FS to make 300hp, you can easily build your BP to make more than that.

i contemplated thorwin a FS into the pro....but after thought...and seeing soo many of the ZOOM ZOOM Boom club members were FS'ers i couldnt do it...lol. BUT the MSP motor seems to be abiut stronger..but i dont know. It really shouldnt be too hard., you mnight be able too use a OBDI electronics form the 94 PRobe/mx6.. You might be able to swing it...if u got the whill theres WAY!....just got ot find the right formula.

I would advise against using a FS motor. They do seem to make more power but are incredibly fragile, even with forged internals you are still running a risk. Just not worth all the time and money it would take.

Well consider stock they are only making 30hp from the turbo kit, you are not going to put much stress on the car by only adding that much hp. They are very prone to blowing up bone-stock and the moment you up the boost you usually have problems on your hands. The factory ECU on the MSP is incredibly rich and runs a very safe timing to help prevent blow-ups, but as msprotege.com proves, it still happens all the time stock.

the fs is weak and has toothpicks for rods. and i can garentee you that the engine bays are not the same size. my bro has a 02dx pro and i had a egt. im not saying it wouldnt fit, but isnt ur car already turbo???
i mean if you want to it would be pretty cool. its ur time and money.
go for it and tell us how it is. the fs makes more torque i believe. my brothers car has more torque then my egt did.
but not then my mx6. LOL1997 U-13 Nissan Altima
