big brake kits for 3rd gen. protege

is there any stores that sell big brake kits for 3rd generation protege?

    #2
If you have the 5-lug hubs, there's a big brake kit around somewhere, I forgot it's name. For the 4-luggers none that I know of. I do have some Brembo cross-drilled rotors, SS lines, and KVR pads on my 99 LX.

I wouldn't expect much of a price drop.

And $1800 is pretty steep for an "upgrade" that doesn't do anything for your stopping power.

Go get some better tires first.

If you want a brake kit for your protege check out these guys. http://www.e-racer.com/index.htm They just developed a kit for the Ford Probe and MX-6 which will also fit the Protege. The prices are awsome considering other kits cost double. Here is what they look like on my Probe with stock 16" rims

Thanks for the info. For those interested, the Probe/MX6 upgrade will only work on 2001+ 5-lug Protege's however.

NegatiZE, have you looked into swapping out to ES brakes, like biknman did? and does anyone know how hard it would be to a 5 lug swap?

negatize.. did you order your brembo from online or did you you go to a shop??

as well... is there a drum-to-disk conversion kit for the pro?

My sitch with my car is that every November, i'll be going from 17" rims to 14" rims, so would I have to switch up the rotors every winter?

Blue LEDz, I thought about buying the ES brake conversion, but the master cylinder and brake booster would have to be changed in order to get the correct bias for the new larger brakes...too much money for me.

Lil Freek, I got the rotors and lines from Darryl (MazdaRacer) on the forum's group buy a while back...if you get the Group Buy section, I think he's doing another run for the brakes last time I checked.
