    Turbo w/ Automatic

Anyone ever put a turbo BPT in a protege with an auto transmission? I want to do this.

Denis did in his Escort - he probably has more details about it. I blieve the tranny is mildly built with a better stall converter

cool! Mine is also mildly built, so I am sure it can take the power, I just dont know how much the ECU controls the transmission and what would happen if I swap it with a GTX unit from a 5 speed into it.

Do you mean a GTX ecu? It wont work because there is not a 3rd plug for the tranny stuff. I do not think I have seen an auto GTX ECU ever.

I have an auto gtx escort. Get a external tranny cooler. I running the factory computer with a few sensers still wired up for the PCM to control the tranny and a Haltech E6K standalone to control the engine.

and if you are pulling the motor to swap in a gtx might as well drop in a higher stall torque converter. Trust me, you won't be disapointed.

Great Advice. Thanks. I was thinking I would need a piggyback computer and this confirms it. What did you use for a torque converter?

i had it for a while...it was a disaster.....all i had tho was a higher stall converter....but i went thru like 3 trannys....personally i would never do it again, but it sounds like some people here had beter luck with it.
