    Spindles the same?!

91-96 spindles all the same? I found some but it says it has "ABS holes" so i'm assuming it should work since i'm assuming its optional (i don't have ABS) but i rather be sure!

EDIT: Found this while just poking around. Its a listing for an axle...

    Front Driveshaft
    Right
    91-93 (1.8ltr)
    94-96 (1.8ltr) w/o ABS
    DRIVE AXLE, NEW

So it seems the ABS stuff is probably different for some reason so thus the spindle probably isn't a direct swap! =/

I was under the impression that the axles had the ABS toothed wheels on them, but that the spindles were the same....

yea i bought a 95 mx3 spindle which is hard as hell to find in Ga. but some MOCA guys had one. And it wouldnt fit around the axle at all... i think thespindle count is different, but it wouldnt go. it ried so hard to get it on there that i broke it...lol the bearing seperated adn i was back with nothing...lol i was soo upset i ditn even count the splines to see the difference, but i got a EGT one and it went on with no problem.
just to be safe id say get a 90-93... LX - EGT , i believe the Escort LX and the pro dx is the same.

if you're looking around in junkyards for them, any escort with the 22V-14 calipers (including 3rd gens) will have the proper spindle. My ELX wagon (and my buddy's 95 ELX sedan) has the same spindle (and splines) as my 92 EGTs.

I believe Sarge is on the money, ABS or no ABS shouldn't matter, the ABS spindles just have a little holder for the magnetic pickup that reads the teeth on the axle shaft. All ZX2s, most later LXs, all wagons, all Sedans, and all EGTs use the same front spindles, the only ones that are different are EARLY 91-96 era LXs with the 9" front brakes, which are the same as a Pro DX and presumably a 323 as well.
