    Back Spacing 5.77 INCHES
    Offset 45MM, 1.77 INCHES
    Hub Size 73.00 MM/2.88 IN.

My next step is to buy tires and this is where the question comes in. How do I figure out which size tires to I need to fit my rims.??? Is there a certain kind of wha. If anyone know anything let me know iigh. thnks.

use the tire calcualtor in the post above....that will tell you what size tire you can use and keep the speedo as close as possible, which I think you would want to do.

Not sure what year car you have......or if its a sedan or a p5. either way your wheel will work okay.....although its the bare minimum offset for the P5. you really have two choices....either a 205/40/17 or a 215/40/17.

with a 17" rim, chances are you will be running a 205/40/17 ..
        It's a common size.
basically you have tread wear ratings. is: 200 or 280 ...
The higher the number the harder the compound of the tire and the longer it will supposedly last under normal conditions.
The lower the number the softer the compound and the quicker the tire compund will wear out..

You can also check out www.tirerack.com..
There is a complete comparitive listing of all the tires that they carry and their ratings in either dry, rain and so forth.

Personally, I place a lot of emphasis on a tire that can handle good in the rain as well as the dry. So the wet and hydroplane resistance numbers are important to me...

thanks, just to let ya'll know I have a 2002 DX Sedan. The offset of the rim is 45mm, why would I get 205/40/17 instead of 205/45/17?

            akaveli,

If you have a 2002 DX, then your OEM tire size is 195/55-15. A 205/40-17 tire has virtually the same rolling diameter as your stock set-up with only a .1% speedometer error. A 205/45-17 tire will give you a 3.5% speedometer error since it has a larger rolling diameter than stock. This is why the 40 aspect ratio tire is the correct upgrade here. These figures are taken from the Miata Tire Calculator.
