My 195/60/15s are very close to the strut on stock rims. Would the slightly wider tires fit?

yea, i've ran 195/55, 205/50, 205/55, 195/60 and they all worked fine, but the 195/60's are HIGHER than 205/70R17
but the 205/50R15 fit just fine, i was running them on a 7.5" rim with eibach lowering springs and KYB shocks, the back sometime rubbed, depending on if i had people in the back and hit a bump due to the width.
hope this helped

going with a +0 sizing, it would be 195/55 and 205/50
195/60 makes the speedo read 5 under (i know from experience, having been clocked at 77 when the speedo read 72...)sigpic

205/50R15s definately fit on aftermarket rims with the proper offset, I'm not sure they'd work on stock fanblades since they're narrow and seem to have a high offset. Not to mention you aren't going to get a whole lot of benefit from that much tire on such a narrow rim, a 15x6 or wider should really be used. I'm running Dunlop DZ101s, awesome tires, though if i was going all out I'd get the Azenis RT615s, they're not that expensive, but they dont last very long either, and probably not a good choice if you drive in rain alot.-Mike
