    ES rear sway bar

Well I just got off the phone with a salvage yard and I have the whole rear sway bar kit being shipped to my house for 65$. I think it is a little expensive for a used stock setup but still not a bad price. For the money it should be a decent addon for my dx. later I may get a racing beat sway bar. They said they would ship all the brackets, bolts, bar and links. So if everything goes well should have it installed in a week. Hopefully the links are in good condition.
In everyones opinion what are the best aftermarket links out there, or are the stock just as good. I have already heard of the complaints against the awr links. I was origionally gonna order the AWR 21.5 kit, but was talked out of it.

I would like to do the rear disc brake swap but won't be able to do it until after we move to New York this summer. I probably shouldn't have bought the sway bar but I just "had" to do a mod.
Once is comes time to do the disc swap I will probably go to the yard myself and pull it.
Once the bar comes in I will surely let you all know how it turns out.

The stock links should be good enough. I know the MSP links are the same as the regular Protege's.

How are you going to mount the bar? You need the mounting tabs on the struts. That's where the endlinks bolt up.

BTW, $65 shipped is not a bad price at all. I pulled mine from a junkyard and paid ~$20 for it. Turns out I'm not going to use it since I got a complete 2nd gen Mazdaspeed sway bar kit.

Intruder, right before I ordered the bar yesterday I went out and checked the struts. They already have the mounting tabs, so I am all set.
I can't remember if I used car-parts.com or where I went to. I sent a e-mail to this yard months ago and just held on to it.

Well, I just got some bad news this morning. Found out the yard that I had ordered from was mistaken and the pro that they had didn't have a rear bar. So they gave me a couple of phone numbers to call. I ended up ordering from the first number. I are sending me the rear setup tomarrow and should have it on friday, for the low price of $35 shipped. I am kinda glad they didn't have the bar. Saving $30 now. More doe to put toward bills and saving toward our move to NY.

I wish I would have known that a little sooner but don't think it makes much difference now. Now hopefully my rear sway ship like it suposed to this time. I can't wait to get the puppy installed. I can only imagine how much of a difference it will make.

and just to add to what has been said. remember that if you have a 96 you cant just buy the end links and the rear sway bar because the rear struts do not have the provisions to add such a feature. you will need to buy rear struts as well with the tabs.

if you have a 97/98 though you can do so cuz the struts come with the tabs

Look up at the AWR site..They sell swaybar there thats is good from 95 to 2003 i think. Its a 21 0r 22 mm and the only thing they say was that the ones for 2gen to make sure theres the tab cos the 97-98 LX dont have them. They said It will fit. thats what im thinking of getting just to see if it will or not.

These struts are not factory they were replaced before we got the car from my inlaws. So I am not sure if the factory struts had the tabs or not.
