    TURBO, the magazine

    any one read the little article in TURBO about the ford escort. its the most recent publication.

    i guess a guy wrote TURBO, and asked what he could do to modify/improve on the 91-96 escort gt he had.

    they told him it was a waste and he should start with a better platform.

    Yeah he should probably sell the EGT and buy a civic then swap in a new motor and have drum brakes and a worse suspension. Maybe some of you turbo guys should write to them and include pics and whatnot, and explain the GTX/GTR and BG chassis.

      i was suckered into that notion that the escort gt sucked and now i own a 2000 protege 1.6.

      if i would have known about the potential of the car i could have had a turbo gt rather than a slow dx. (for now...moooahahahahahahahahahahahah)

          its like, why go buy another engine where you have to replace the bottom end to make it stronger? the 240sx(2.4L), the civcs(wimpy rods) can't handle boost well over 10psi on the stock bottom end. the bp can handle it.

                      muahaha, thats too funny. Everyone who turbo's their k/a blow it and then swaps an sr20. Then after you make 300+whp on an sr20, your rings drop like a teenage girls panties. The bp responds WAAAAAAAAAAY better to boost than hondas, 240s.

                          no its not all in the tuning, ka is garbage, sr20 is garbage and slow unless sleeved, ca18 i like the concept of a little better. Stick to your escort, much better platform besides aftermarket support. Might wanna get rid of that cute turbo and invest in something with better flow characteristics.

                            **** I bet they won't say **** once they have a ride in a turboed Escort. Oh well, at least we know the Escort is still a great sleeper

                            And I really don't think the Escort build quality is any worse than a Civic of the same era.

                              I love how it says: "A 94 Escort GT is still an Escort GT." and then right after "A 94 Civic EX coupe ...." IS STILL a CIVIC EX COUPE.

                              There is no point to their argument.
