    spring clamps?

    I randomly found stuff online about people using some kind of spring clamps to shorten their springs and that it works fairly well. anyone know more about this?

    chances are i'll get some real springs, it'd be better, i'm just curious

          just use ropes.

            the springs cause bind and will make the car handle uneven. I don't recommend it. I would get cheap coilovers or cut my springs before I used clamps.

              Yep, definately not spring clamps. You can pick up springs fairly cheaply on eBay - why risk your life with spring clamps!

                  Zip ties work the best........

                  But yeh thats the worst idea EVER, i posted a thing in the off-topic section about a guy on the miata forums claping his springs together witha bunch of zip ties haha greatest **** evAr!.

                              ok forget it for now im going to order the clamps and rent one of those spring clamp deals for 5 bucks from autozone or something and just do it that way for now. lol i can put a clamp on both sides of 2 coils across from each other and it will compress an entire coil, like i cut one out... so i'm just gonna get the 8 clamps and do it front and back. LOL it'll be ghetto, but work for now.
