    please help

Hi, I'm getting ready to start my rally project (88 mazda GTX) but i want to do an engine and tranny swap.
I'already got a bp-t tranny because is stronger than the stock b6 trany in the gtx (it was also broken)and i want to get a 2.0L (fs)engine from a 2001 626 mazda. i want to know if this engine and tranny would fit together?

I believe you would need to swap the bell housing from a G-tranny off of the 626, IIRC since the 626 clutch works for the g tranny for the 1.8L you should be good

    good luck

why not use a 1.8 GTX motor to begin with?

dont know if that motor will work on that tranny.

U can get the motor in there with the 626 tranny like u would put a bp in it, but it wont be awd. i dont think those motors are worth the hassle, but it would be nice. i thought about a FS swap also.. not as complicated as one would seem, but wouldnt really be gaining much.
