    I now have a 1.8 (not 56k)

So after years of driving Escorts and a Protege I got my first 1.8, a 92 LX-E. I picked it up for $800, and it is clean at 104,000 miles. It came with a new monza cat back exhaust. It did not make it thru the weekend before it had a wing from my last scort.

This will be my new daily driver and Detroit regin autocross car.

So far I have a set of 15" x 8" OZ rims and a set of Falken Azenis (waiting for good weather).

Today I ordered from Corksport , Magnecor 8.5mm wires, Genie 4-2-1 header, a set of Koni adj shock incerts, set of ground control coilover , front and rear KVR carbon metallic pads as well as a set of blue SS brake lines and a blue SS clutch line.

Preformance auto has my set of NGK plugs, a new cap and rotor and a timing belt kit

Autozone will have a set of Street Legal semi loaded yellow powercoated calipers, a water pump, and the alt/ water pump belt.

I already installed a set of cheepie race seats, and a different steering wheel.

I will fab up a 4 point roll bar and do some lightnining. I also have a GT cover and the grill and a tracer hood, I already swapped in the clears.

    So here some pics

    As picked up

Wink 5 bar mirror and wing. It is a factory wing of an 98 ish accord and it has a nice LED brake light in it (better pic later).

    Seats

Installing a set of 6 switches and LED's in the console

Some cool night pics that Kev and I took showing off some of the lights.

^^ Set of all-seasons on 5 spoke rims.

Neons make people cry. Nice score with the LX-E, very rare. How long is the back order or that header?

I called and ordered them today, they said I might have it all by Friday, maybe Monday. No mention of a backorder on any of the parts.

That is what I get for being lazy and using my hand drill instead of my drill press

nice score... I seem to find more Escort GT's/LXE's and Mercury Tracer LTS(?) than I do Protege LX's at my junkyard. There are a couple of BP Tracers there right now as a matter of fact.

Not bad!, let us know how it does on the track. Also how "cheap" can those seats be had for? I'm kindof in the market for some lower/more comfortable seats.

knockoff racing seats are a really poor idea.

                        just pick up some mx3s.

when you can find the mx3 seats, They sit too low for my taste.

The MX3 seats sit lower, are more comfortable, and look good.
