check the plugs on the bottom of your engine fuse box, i had the same problem with my sohc, plug wasnt plugged in, other than that cant help ya, thats my best guess

I'm pretty sure the ignition system between the two is different, did you change them?

            nope
when you change the engine the ignnition doesn't get touched
its not attached to the engine

maybe your coil has a bad connection somewhere, bumped during your swap? trace the wires around you coil to see if you can find a fault, crack/bare wire/sumthing missing etc...

best of luck, i meant all the plugs under the fuse box they are all equally important

              best of luck

Maybe the computer on the DOHC is programmed for a DOHC only. Anyone on this board who has made the swap and had no problems can confirm they had no problem from using the same SOHC computer. All I can tell you is that my 98 Ford Escort was getting no spark to the plug wires, fuel pump or fuel injectors. It turned out that I had fried the computer. So, the above is possible or you ruined it yourself during the swap.

My starter turned and the engine turned but it would not kick in. The computer is still a possibility but doubtful now. Before trying the computer, I forgot to mention, is checking the relay. I imagine you checked ALL the fuses first, right? The ones in the engine compartment as well as the ones inside the car. See what relay controls your problem area. ........... Jorge
